Patricia Warren - Country Matchmaker, Author and Dating Advisor
Patricia was born in Worcestershire in the late 1940’s and has always loved the countryside and a farming way of life. Her other dream was to be a matchmaker, ever since she played at matching her dolls as a little girl.
The Country Bureau
However, it was not until she moved to Derbyshire and met and married her bearded farmer was she able to turn her childhood wishes into a successful venture. She founded, in early 1982, The Farmers and Country Bureau, which was later called The Country Bureau. Over the years she has been responsible for bringing together thousands of people, hundreds of weddings and a multitude of babies.
Country Matchmaking
Patricia has become an expert in human behaviour, acting as counsellor and comforter as well as matchmaker. Her work was to interview and individually select lonely would-be lovers and match them together from all over the length and breadth of rural Britain and abroad. The Bureau very quickly became hugely successful and fulfilled Pat's childhood wish of helping people to find true love.
Author
Now, after 25 years of being The Country Matchmaker, Patricia has handed over the Bureau into the capable hands of Mrs. Katie Moore, and she has been able to get down to writing books about her years - helping farmers who want a wife. The stories are inter twinned with the every day life of her family, their farm workers and the local village community, on their dairy and livestock farm in the Peak District.
